Learn to Knit Magic Loop Socks edition by Staci Perry Arts Photography eBooks

Magic loop knitting is a way of knitting socks (or any tiny tube) with a long circular needle instead of double-pointed needles.
In this pattern you will see links to seven instructional videos that will explain each section in detail, and help get you through the tricky parts. All you need is less than 200 yards of worsted-weight yarn and size US 5 circular needle with at least a 24″ cord. (A longer cord is even better.)
This pattern is for a worsted-weight anklet sock. We’re using heavier yarn and bigger needles than most knitted socks, so that you can quickly learn and work through the elements of Magic Loop sock knitting. The techniques you learn here will set you up for working with all kinds of other sock patterns.
* Pattern includes links to video tutorial.

I just finished my first cuff down, magic loop sock with this resource and very much liked working with it. I am only a beginning knitter but found the clarity and video links to be clear and easy to follow. The only pieces I would like to see improved were in the discussion of the gusset (and how to prevent that annoying hole from developing at the top of the wedge) and at the very end for rearranging the stitches on the magic loop . I was in the dark at both of these points as there wasn't enough explanation or clear enough camera views (and I think I accidentally added a couple of extra rows whilst trying to do the rearranging of stitches). But in Staci's defense, she does state that this is an intermediate knitter project and I took it on with a very shallow background. I loved that this was an e-book so I could follow along on my Kindle no matter where I am. I would recommend this to any new sock knitter,Product details

Learn to Knit Magic Loop Socks edition by Staci Perry Arts Photography eBooks Reviews
This sock pattern was an excellent instruction for learning to knit cuff down socks on magic loop. I love that it has links to YouTube videos showing how to do several of the more confusing parts that really clarified for me what to do since I am a visual learner. If a person can knit and pearl, they can learn from this book!
Although I have been knitting for many years, I had never tackled socks. I have no idea why I was afraid because they are easy as long as you have the right teacher. And this is the right pattern for me! I love the fact that you have written instruction as well as video. Just perfect! Since I have accumulated tons of patterns over the years and they take up too much room, I love that I have this digital version! I can take it with me, jump to the video while knitting and then go back to the pattern easily.
I have to say that I really enjoy Staci Perry and her videos. I find that her videos show a great amount of detail and I understand completely what she is demonstrating. She shows her knitting the stitches from the viewpoint of the person knitting and that is so helpful.
I have looked up how to do individual stitches on her website and on you tube and I have learned how to stitch socks with the DPN method as well.
This video is no different. I find everything clearly explained and after learning the magic loop method, I can make socks using any technique I want.
Thank you, Staci, for your terrific videos and lessons - keep them coming!!!
I loved using Staci Perry's sock pattern on my because I could refer to the pattern and the instructional videos for each section on one device. Staci has THE BEST!!! instructional videos for every level of knitting and crochet--she's able to break down the process and present in a clear, concise way that makes even the most advanced techniques understandable. Her YouTube channel is a must!
This book is suggested for the intermediate knitter, but with the help of the videos, a novice could probably do quite well. Once you have mastered the demonstrated techniques, you can use the book alone to knit your socks. By that time, you will be an intermediate knitter. I found the author's style to be pleasant and engaging, and not at all condescending. If you have always wanted to knit socks, go for it!
Staci Perry's e-book pattern, accompanied by the links to videos in which she demonstrates specific knitting techniques, is wonderful and quite easy to follow. Within a short time, I had knitted two pairs of socks from this pattern and am very pleased. (I had never knitted socks before.) Obviously you have to know basic knitting techniques before you attempt to knit a pair of socks. However, these socks would not be difficult for the advanced beginner to create, especially if you make sure to follow the video instructions (links embedded in the pattern).
I'd highly recommend this to one who wants to learn how to knit socks. Staci Perry uses worsted* weight yarn to make it easier for one who has never knitted socks before to learn the basic techniques required. Once you are comfortable creating this pair of socks, you should be able to begin knitting other types of socks.
*Worsted weight is thicker than the normal sock weight yarn, so the process of knitting socks with the worsted weight yarn is quicker and easier.
I purchased this to learn how to do a sock using magic loop. I did manage to do it but not without some frustration. In the video where you knit the heel flap she said it was the "eye of partridge" but it's not. She's doing a 2 row repeat and the eye of partridge is a four row repeat. Also, she just disconnected her cord from her Addi needles and when on without the cord but my needles I couldn't do that with mine. Easy for her, not for me. The other place that I REALLY needed some help was at the end where she's ready to graft toe. She said you have to rearrange the stitches and proceeded to do so but didn't really show how she did it. I could really have used a clearer explanation of how to do that. I managed to get them rearranged but it would have been very helpful if she'd gone slower there and showed exactly what she did. I think she dropped the ball there. It was helpful that I have knitted socks on dpn's before. Maybe it's just me, but I was disappointed in this and am just sharing my opinion.
